If you’re ready to take bold new steps with your photography (or photography business), but have too many unanswered questions to get moving on your own, 1-on-1 mentoring can help. You’ll receive personalized feedback, creative insight, art world guidance, and even tech help if that’s what you need right now.

I work with new photographers who are just finding their footing - and established photographers who need project support or bold creative resets. I pull from 20+ years as a curator, photographer, gallerist, professional portfolio reviewer, educator, juror, and creative business owner to give you all my best guidance.

Sessions happen via phone or Zoom, and every time zone can be accommodated.

Mentoring falls into two categories:

Artistic Vision Mentoring

Craving fresh insight, motivation, and inspiration with your photography? This is the place to start. If you’re exhibiting your work (or just dreaming about it), trying to find your voice as an artist, navigating creative challenges, or getting the ball rolling again after a fallow period, mentoring will help.

Creative Business Mentoring

Whether you’re brainstorming a new business idea, expanding an existing side hustle, trying to get a struggling business off life support, or just interested in earning enough to cover your photo expenses, this is the place to start.

I knew I needed change, but I didn’t know what kind of change. There is a saying ‘the teacher will only appear when the student is ready.’ Thank you for all of your teaching, Laura. The mentoring session was illuminating. You gave me a lot of valuable feedback to push me forward. I am having more fun taking images nowadays. I feel they have way more heart, which is important to me.

You always have really insightful, practical, and helpful advice which is exactly what I needed. I definitely will be getting future mentoring sessions from you as I found it so helpful in so many ways. Thank you again for all you do for photographers, you really change people’s lives with the work you do!

Hi, I’m Laura!

I help photographers deepen their relationship with their art and thrive in their creative ventures. My teaching centers on clearing creative blocks and cultivating the insight and confidence necessary to make deeply authentic work.

In addition to my own photography practice, I teach e-courses, speak to photo groups, lead retreats, and curate exhibitions for galleries and photo festivals around the world. I also jury competitions and serve as a reviewer at portfolio review events, where I help photographers fine-tune their vision and promote their work with more confidence.

I also have many years of experience running successful photography businesses and arts nonprofits - and it’s one of my greatest joys to empower other creatives as they venture into the world of art and commerce.

I look forward to working with you!
